Loveland Innovations' History

Inception

Loveland Innovations emerged from an unwavering conviction in technology’s transformative prowess. Rooted in the belief that technological innovation can revolutionize lives and industries, our story begins with our founder, Jim Loveland. He was by his side as his father built Xactware, a paradigm-shifting insurtech venture, until becoming CEO and running the business himself. This, in turn, kindled the vision for Loveland Innovations where his entrepreneur journey took flight.

Vision

In 2015, a landscape brimming with so-called “game-changing” technologies emerged, including drone technology, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

It was the intersection of these innovations that gave birth to the concept behind Loveland Innovations and IMGING. Our core conviction as a company lies in making the benefits of technology seamlessly accessible to industry professionals. This started first by removing the need for specialized drone piloting skills or deep AI understanding to harness technological potential though automated drone roof inspections.

Today, this commitment resonates across our product offerings, from patented automated flight technology, to mobile inspection apps and AI-powered damage detection and scoping tools.

Early Validation
In our early days, like many tech startups, we fervently pursued our technology vision while awaiting customer validation. It arrived in March 2017, just before IMGING's official launch in April. Amidst a post-hail storm training meeting with insurance adjusters. After demonstrating IMGING to a seasoned adjuster in his mid-50's he exclaimed "You just extended my career by 10 years." Though our product has since evolved, with the integration of foundational features like A.I. and 3D modeling, that singular affirmation reverberates as a constant reminder that we are building something special.

Launching Into Solar
Although on the roadmap from the beginning, we didn't know when the move into the solar industry would happen. Then in the spring of 2018, an employee acquainted with a solar surveyor introduced our solution. The surveyor's interest was piqued, and within weeks, a solar company inquired if our software was available for the solar industry. We quickly engaged with early solar customers, immersing ourselves in their needs and challenges regarding site surveys, design, and permitting processes. Over the subsequent months, we rolled out tailored solar features, including .DXF file options for CAD/Design and our patented Solar Scan, autonomously capturing roof horizon photos. Since these initial strides, we've continuously enhanced our solar outputs, introduced new features, and had the privilege to collaborate with esteemed solar experts across the nation.

Field professionals, such as adjusters, contractors, and site surveyors inspectors, could now seamlessly conduct on-site assessments using their smartphones, amplifying real-time data acquisition where drones are not needed. This evolution expanded IMGING's adaptability across various scenarios, catering not only to users equipped with drones but also those requiring nimble, handheld inspections.
